SEO packages and prices in Australia (published prices, 2026)
Short answer
Australian agencies that publish SEO prices charge from about A$500 a month for local SEO in one city, and A$1,100 to A$8,000 a month for broader programmes. Most mid-sized packages sit between A$2,000 and A$4,400 a month. Most prices are plus GST. Terms range from month to month to 12 months. Before you sign, check what work you get each month, how links are built, and what the agency reports on.
Most SEO agencies won’t tell you their price until you’ve had a call. Some do publish it. We went through Australian agency websites in October 2026 and pulled every monthly SEO price we could find in writing.
We sell SEO too, so our own price is at the end, in the same format.
Published SEO prices in Australia
All figures are as published on each agency’s website when we checked on 9 October 2026. Prices are monthly, in Australian dollars, unless stated.
| Agency | Monthly price | Setup | Term | GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SEO Perth Experts (Perth) | Six packages from $499 to $2,999 | None | Month to month | Not stated |
| iOnline | $1,100, $1,600 or $2,100 | Not stated | 3-month minimum (12 months with a website) | Plus GST |
| AIAD | $2,000, $4,000, $6,000 or $8,000 | Not stated | “No lock-in contracts” | Plus GST |
| Spicy Web | From $2,200, $4,400 or $6,600 | Not stated | Not stated | Plus GST, where stated |
| SOUP Agency | $2,500, $4,000 or $6,000+ | Not stated | An initial commitment, length not stated | Plus GST |
| Websites That Sell | Minimum $3,000, or $150 an hour | Not stated | Not stated | Plus GST |
Two things stand out. Local SEO for one business in one city is the cheap end. The Perth agency above runs from $499 to $2,999 a month. And the agencies that publish bigger packages mostly start around $2,000 and go up in steps of about $2,000.
You’ll also see “average SEO cost” figures on agency blogs, usually $1,000 to $5,000 a month. We couldn’t find any of those backed by a survey, so treat them as opinion.
What changes the price
- How many pages are being worked on. iOnline, for example, prices by “focus pages”: up to 5, 10 or 15.
- How competitive your searches are. A plumber in one Perth suburb is a smaller job than a law firm targeting all of Australia.
- Content. New service pages, suburb pages and articles take the most hours. Some agencies include them, some charge per page. iOnline lists 5 local landing pages at $1,500.
- Google Business Profile. Sometimes included, sometimes an add-on. iOnline lists it at $395 a month per location.
- Links. Earning real links from relevant sites is slow, manual work. That’s why the bigger packages cost more.
What to ask before you sign
- What work happens each month? Ask for the number of pages, articles and fixes, not just “ongoing optimisation”.
- How are links built? Google’s spam policies treat buying links or building link networks to manipulate rankings as link spam. If an agency can’t tell you where links come from, walk away.
- What do they report on? Calls, form leads and the searches that bring them are worth more than a list of rankings.
- Who owns the content and the accounts? Your website, Google Business Profile and Search Console should be in your business’s name.
- Is GST included? The prices above are mostly plus GST.
- How long is the term, and what’s the notice period? SEO usually takes months to show, so a minimum term isn’t a red flag on its own. Just know what it is.
- Do they cover AI answers? ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews now answer a lot of “who should I hire” questions. Ask if the agency checks whether you’re named there.

SEO and GEO start from US$1,500 a month, with a 6-month minimum. You get a written proposal with a fixed scope after a free visibility check. We bill in USD from Singapore.
At an assumed A$1 = US$0.65, US$1,500 is about A$2,300 a month. That’s the middle of the published range above, not the cheap end. An overseas agency generally doesn’t charge Australian GST to a GST-registered business, so compare prices after GST. Check that with your accountant. We’ve covered that and other checks in hiring an agency outside Australia.
Why the 6-month minimum: service pages usually take several months to rank. On our own business, Arché Academy, average Google position went from 37.1 to 10.5 between June and September 2026. A shorter term would mostly be paying for set-up.
If you want to see where you stand first, our Perth SEO and GEO team does a free visibility check: where you rank, whether you’re in the map, and whether AI answers name you. Running Google Ads as well? See what Google Ads management costs in Australia.
